Display : PAL.& When or where The Gathering 93 was&held I'm not too sure, (it's difficult&to keep up when you're nearer to&Antarctica than Europe), but this is a&slideshow of the pictures entered in
it's graphics competition.& The disk is just a slideshow with&no interface to speak of at all so&it's worth stands or falls on the
strength of the pictures.& There's twelve of them in all, some&signed and some not. This of course&begs the question of whether they're&all original works or not. Somehow I doubt it.& The most outstanding pic would have&to be the one of an alien, reproduced&here. Not signed though so once again&there's doubts about the source. It's&in hi-res interlace and very detailed.& There's quite a few other good&pics, some only so-so and one definite&also ran which I guess has to be&original as it's not a picture you&would scan. Then again it may have&been just badly copied by hand I
guess. Whose to know.& The Unicorn, by Tony of Alcatraz,&also pictured here, is worthy of note&due to it's unique style. Whether&scanned or not I don't know but it's&produced a soft, flat picture without&the glow you get with too many Amiga&pictures. Makes a nice change from the
usual air-brush look.& Weirdest picture has to be the one&drawn (perhaps) by Skutt. This&features a strange bird-like creature&and an even stranger woman growing out&of (or into) a crystal (or rock.) The&woman's head and body seem just enough&out of proportion to make you think&that this might actually be a real&female, warts and all, and not just&your usual perfect (ly bland) fantasy&art priestess. A picture you'll$remember, even if you don't want to.& It's a pity this disk is not better&presented. As it was a competition you&would think a nice interface could&already be made prior to the event&with just the pictures left to be&added along with some info on who made&them, how, and, if possible, who won.&As it is you're left in the dark®arding even the names of the"artists with a lot of what's here.& The groups running these parties&also need to start setting some&standards regarding the graphic&competitions. Completely original work&is the only stuff that should be&allowed. It's daft letting people win&money prizes for scanned pictures of&other people's work that have just&been touched up and an insult to those&Amiga artists producing original work.

[23m& So some good pics and some not so&good as is to be expected from the&mixed bag a competition would throw&up. Some are worth a look though,&assuming you haven't already seen them
